Madrid Emprende at The South Summit 2014

Between October 8 and 10, it took place in the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, in Madrid,The South Summit 2014, the largest congregation in southern Europe in the entrepreneurial sphere, where the most cutting-edge startups in the area, as well as the Mediterranean and Latin America met with investors, partners and representatives of various institutions in an environment of exchanging experiences, carrying out business and networking.

Madrid Emprende was present at The South Summit through a stand from which infoHe confirmed the support services he provides to entrepreneurs, both national and international. The president of the Community of Madrid,Ignacio Gonzalez; the industry minister, Jose Manuel Soria; the Vice President of the European Commission, Neelie Kroes; Manuel Teruel, President of the INCYDE Foundation and the Superior Council of Chambers of Commerce; the president of Google for Entrepreneurs,Mary Grove; Ignacio Garralda, president of Mutua Madrileña; Federico Fea, Head of Innovation at Endesa; Santiago Fernandez Valbuena, General Director of Strategy at Telefónica and Maria Benjumea, president of Spain Startup.

"Our future will depend on the success of entrepreneurs," said President González, to which Minister Soria added that Spain offers many opportunities to invest. For her part, Neelie Kroes assured that the more than 60 participating startups were proof of the existing potential in the European Union and said that "you are proof that we have a lot of talent."

Manuel Teruel explained that, from his point of view, the scarcest goods today "are entrepreneurial initiative and competitive capacity" to which Santiago Fernández added that entrepreneurship is nothing but a matter of attitude.
